for Mentally Handicapped
The school is totally dedicated in its service to humanity, tirelessly striving to uplift the lesser member of society i.e Mentally Handicapped. An inter disciplinary team working together wholly committed to achieving its twofold aim in enhancing the multifaced assets present in the students enrolled as well as decreasing their disabilities to the minimum. The students of school ranges from infants to adults. The classes are divided as follows:
Pre Primary Group: (Age 3 to 6 Yrs.) Pre-Primary Programme involves play therapy, which they use as a medium of instructions.
Primary Group: (Age 6 to 9 Yrs.) They are learning self care skills, socialization, and simple academics and are taught numbers they can paint and learn Arts & Crafts skills.
Severely Handicapped Group: (Age 9 to 11 Yrs.) They are taught shapes, size, color names of familiar articles etc. More important they are taught self-help skills such as feeding, dressing, toileting etc.
Secondary & Pre-voational Group: (Age 11 to 14 Yrs.) They both follow the same kind of curriculum more or less. They are taught practical reading, writing, number concept, knowledge of money and time imbibed in them to the extent of theie functional abilities. A general awareness of their immediate environment as various social skills are included in them as well.
Vocational Groups: Both boys & girls are included in this group. Boys are taught Candle Making, Weaving, and Spinning etc. The girls use the cloth manufacturing into shopping bags, napkins, table mats etc. They not only sew but embroider as well. The vocational group is paid a stipend which helps them get a sense of purpose and responsibility.
